About Pace Calculations

Pace is the time it takes to cover a specific distance, typically expressed as minutes per kilometer or minutes per mile. This calculator helps you plan your training and race strategies.

Common Race Distances:

  • 5K: 5 kilometers (3.1 miles)
  • 10K: 10 kilometers (6.2 miles)
  • Half Marathon: 21.1 kilometers (13.1 miles)
  • Marathon: 42.2 kilometers (26.2 miles)

Training Zones (Running):

  • Easy/Recovery: Conversational pace, 60-70% max heart rate
  • Aerobic/Base: Comfortable effort, 70-80% max heart rate
  • Threshold: Comfortably hard, 80-90% max heart rate
  • VO2 Max: Hard effort, 90-95% max heart rate
  • Neuromuscular: All-out sprint, 95-100% max heart rate
